Interventions without consultation, forced measures such as lying still on the back without compelling reasons, enema, episiotomy, CTG, refusal of help, violent medical treatments such as stretching the cervix, too high a dosage of labor medicine, pulling on the umbilical cord to detach the placenta and also psychological violence such as shouting at us, leaving us alone, not taking us seriously, all of these forms can leave deep emotional scars in us and we often don’t even know that we are being subjected to violence happened. However, we sensed something was wrong and not appropriate. (more information at https://www.rosesrevolutiondeutschland.de). If you experienced violence during childbirth, it may make sense to consider taking legal action, but that does not alone help you to process the experience. Here we need space and capacity to transform these experiences into experiences that we can integrate. This won’t change what we experienced, but how we live with it and really end up with trust again. I would be happy to accompany you on this journey.
